EXPERIMENTAL MODAL ANALYSIS ON DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF BRAIDED STRUCTURAL COMPOSITES
-
Abstract
Dynamic mechanical characteristics of carbon fiber/epoxy braided structural reinforced composites are studied by means of the experimental modal analysis technique and the vibration modal parameters and the frequency response functions of braided composites beam and tube are analyzed. By comparison with dynamic properties of steel beam and tube, the results reveal that advanced braided structure composite has good dynamic mechanics behavior such as relatively high natural frequencies, damping ratios and the ratio of stiffness to weight as well as fairly good stabilization and the obvious effect of shock absorption on the impulsive pulse.
