STRESS ANALYSIS OF SYMMETRICAL LAMINATS

A theory of bending for the symmetrical laminated plates is derived. The distribution of transverse shear stresses is assumed and then the model of displacements is developed. By solving the governing equations in terms of displacement components, we can get dispalacements and stresses for a symmetrically laminated orthotropic plates.Numerical examples show good accuracy of the approach presented by comparing the results from the exact theory of elasticity.
