TENSILE-SHEAR CHARACTERISTICS OF DAMPING LAMINATED COMPOSITE STEEL SHEET
-
Abstract
The tensile-shear characteristics of the damping laminated composite steel sheet, which uses phenolic resin-chloroprene rubber polymer for sandwich, have been studied using four strain rates of 1.67×10-2,1.67×10-3,1.67×10-3 and 1.67×10-5s-1,in the range of testing temperature from 20℃ to 150℃.The results show that the damping laminated composite steel sheet is of high tensile-shear strength, and its destruction morphology exhibits the features of mixed destruction of polymer being torn and interface destruction, with high strain rate and low temperature. At the temperature of about 80℃,the tensile-shear strength is of the minimum value, and the destruction of polymer possesses the characteristic of slip deformation. In the range of testing temperature from 80℃ to 150℃,the tensile-shear strength increases with the rising of testing temperature;this is due to the cross linking reaction taking place in the polymer sandwich.
