Property research and evaluation on composites for space environment

Abstract
Based on the evaluation indexes such as mass loss rate, FTIR, DSC, dynamic thermodynamic (DMA) and mechanical properties, a kind of epoxy resin composites for high temperature resistance have been developed. Employing the resin system as matrix, a composite vacuum chamber using for simulating space environment was manufactured, and was evaluated the application by testing the structure stability, gas leakage rate, gas rate etc. under room temperature and high temperature states. The results show that the vacuum chamber achieves structure stability requirement in 150℃ high vacuum environment, the high temperature performance reach the international leading level, the wave-transparent property is better than that of reported similar products, and the composite can serve in space environment.
