Abstract: This paper gives a brief introduction to recent development in SMA intelligent composite structures research.Emphasis is placed on results dealing with constitutive modeling,vibration,structural acoustics,low velocity impact and crack growth control by embedding SMA in composite structures.Some further investigations of this area are also suggested.
