Abstract: Low velocity impact tests are introduced into honeycomb core sandwich specimens with different energy levels. Some methods are used to study the damage of the panels after impact thoroughly: X ray, deply, microscopic examination of sections, and visual inspection. The role of the cloth on the panel surfaces is discussed. The relationship between visual damage, facesheet damage, damage of honeycomb core, and impact energy levels is also analyzed.
