Abstract: Based on the model for determining the effective elastic constants of stitched lamina, the constitutive relation of stitched laminates is presented and the effects of stitching parameters on stiffness are investigated. In order to validate the analytical results, the tensile stiffness and the compressive stiffness of stitched laminates are also studied experimentally, and good agreement was found between analytical and experimental results.
