Abstract: The damping properties of a SMA hybrid composite lamina with fibers reinforced unidirectionally are investigated by using a simplified micromechanic damping theory. The analytical equations corresponding to all the six in plane and out-of-plane damping parameters are presented. Numerical studies are carried out to demonstrate the damping enhancement of hybridization effect by embedding NiTi fibers.
