Abstract:
The domestic Poly (phenylene sulfide) (PPS) was cured in air at 270℃,and the melting behavior of PPS and CL-PPS (cured) as well as the processing and mechanical properties of their composites reinforced with glass fiber were studied in this paper. The results show that T
g and T
c of the resin increase after it is cured, but its Tm become lower. The prepreg of glass fiber reinforced PPS was manufactured by suspension-melting method. The mechanical properties of GF/CL-PPS composite such as impact strength, shear strength, flexural strength and flexural modulus are improved more than those of GF/YPS at room temperature, and they have very good chemical resistance. The mechanical properties of both GF/PPS and GF/CL-PPS change greatly within their glass transition temperature regions. SEM indicates that the fracture mainly occurs in the interface between glass fibers and PPS resin.
