聚合物涂层对高模量碳纤维表面性能的影响
Effects of polymer coating on the properties of high modulus carbon fiber

摘要: 为改善碳纤维表面性能以及碳纤维/树脂复合材料的界面性能, 对PAN基高模量碳纤维(HMCF)表面进行聚合物涂层处理。研究了不同潜伏性固化剂含量的聚合物涂层对HMCF表面以及碳纤维/树脂复合材料的界面性能的影响。IR分析表明, 聚合物涂层与纤维或树脂基体发生了化学反应。扫描电镜和动态机械热分析的结果也说明, 聚合物涂层能够提高HMCF/树脂复合材料的界面性能。潜伏性固化剂的含量是影响纤维/树脂复合材料的界面性能的关键因素。潜伏性固化剂含量为20%的聚合物涂层涂覆后的HMCF/树脂复合材料的层间剪切强度显著提高, 达到了77.9 MPa, 较未涂覆聚合物涂层的HMCF/树脂复合材料提高了8.6%。Abstract: In order to improve the surface properties of carbon fibers and the interface properties of carbon fiber/resin composites, high modulus carbon fibers (HMCF) were treated with the polymer coating. The influence of the content of latent curing agent (LCA) in the coating layer on the carbon fiber surface properties and interface properties of carbon fiber/resin composites were studied. The results show that the polymer coating may have chemical reaction with carbon fiber or resin by IR analysis. SEM and DMTA also show polymer coating can improve the interfacical properties of carbon fiber/resin composites. The amount of LCA in the coating layer is the crucial factor to improve interfacial properties of carbon fiber/resin composites. When the content of the LCA is 20%, the interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) of the sized HMCF/epoxy resin composites is improved to 77.9 MPa, increased by 8.6% compared with that of the composites reinforced by unsized HMCF.
