BEHAVIOR OF IMPACT TENSION IN A CAST SiCP/6061 Al COMPOSITE MATERIAL
-
Abstract
The behavior of the cast (wt 8%) SiCP/6061 Al composite material under impact tensile loading was reported in this paper. The tests were conducted in two environmental temperatures and three loading rates. The results showed that the broken strain of the material decreased with raising the loading rate and environmental temperature. The modulus increased when the loading rate and environmental temperature increased. The stress strain curve presented a brittle character.
