IN SITU SURFACE COMPOSITES FABRICATED BY CENTRIFUGALLY CASTING HYPEREUTECTIC AlSi ALLOY
-
Abstract
In situ surface composites of hypereutectic Al-Si alloy, which possess the microstructures of accumulated primary silicon in outer layer or accumulated primary silicon in outer and inner layers and no primary silicon in the rest layer, have been achieved using preheated metal mould centrifugal casting. The formation process of the composites has been analyzed, and the structure, hardness and wear ability of the composites have been also investigated.
