APPLICATION OF THE DYNAMIC RELAXATION METHOD TO THE NON-LINEAR BENDING OF COMPOSTIE LAMINATES

Dynamic relaxation method as a new numerical method has been developed since 1960. The present paper investigates its application in the nonlinear bending of rectangular composite laminates.The general formulae are derived for fictitious densities which are important parameters in the solution of problems studied.These formulae are then applied to the numerical analysis of the nonlnenr bending of symmetric cross-ply and unsymmetric angle-ply rectangular laminates.The computational results agree well with rxperiments.
