MAXIMUM ERROR LIMIT AND MINIMUM SPECIMEN NUMBER REQUIRED IN STRENGTH AND FATIGUE TESTING OF COMPOSITES

  • Large sample size is required in strength and fatigue testing of composite materials because of their big experimental data scatter. The variational coefficient, Cv,of CFRP,for instance,is 8 to 11 percent for strength tenting and 14-16% for fatigue.The experiment cost of these two properties may be very high if the reliable experimental results is required.
