SYNTHESIS OF TG-XDA MATRIX RESIN AND ITS CURING CHARACTERISTICS

  • A teraglycidyl amine ef xylylene diamine (TG-XDA) epoxy resin was prepared from xylylene diaminc and epichlorohydrin (ECH) by twb step condensation,A best condition for the synthesis of TG-XDA resin was determined.The structure and composition of TG-XDA resin have been studied by using infrared spectrpphotpmetric analysis, elemental analysis and chemical analysis.It was dempnstrated that TG-XDA resin contained tetrafunctionalitY epoxy resin with an epoxy equivalent of 0.8639-0.9889 (eq,/100g).The curing characteristics and thermal properties of the twp systems, TG-XDA and AG-80/DDS. were compared.
