无卷曲织物预制体成形的材料表征、仿真与缺陷抑制方法研究进展

Research progress on material characterisation, modelling, and defects mitigation approaches in non-crimp fabric forming

  • 摘要: 在液体成型工艺中使用无卷曲织物(NCF)作为增强体,是实现高性能复合材料快速、低成本制备的重要技术途经,而高质量、无缺陷的NCF预制体是确保液体成型NCF复合材料力学性能的关键。本文综述了NCF预制体成形技术涉及的材料表征、数值仿真、缺陷机理与抑制方法等方面的研究进展,并对应分析了存在的问题和挑战。综述表明,NCF的多尺度特性决定了其宏观成形行为与其微细观结构息息相关,同时受到工艺参数的影响,表征方法中必须加以考虑;材料仿真模型必须能够合理反映NCF的主要变形模式,而模型尺度的选择则需综合考虑计算效率、精度和所关注的问题;NCF成形缺陷的形貌也呈现多尺度特征,且与工艺类型相关,行之有效的抑制方法必须建立在缺陷机理明确的基础之上。最后,本文展望了该领域未来的发展趋势,以期为NCF复合材料制造技术相关研究提供参考。

     

    Abstract: Using non-crimp fabrics (NCF) as reinforcements in liquid composite moulding (LCM) is suitable for volume production of high-performance composites with low capital investment. High-quality and defect-free NCF preforms are essential for the mechanical performance of NCF composites produced through LCM. This paper reviews the research progress on NCF forming regarding material characterization, numerical modelling, defect mechanisms and mitigation approaches, with issues and challenges discussed accordingly. The review indicates that the forming behaviour of NCFs at macro-scale is closely related to their architectures at meso- and micro-scales due to the multi-scale nature of NCFs, while being influenced by process parameters, which should be considered in characterisation methods. The primary deformation modes of NCFs must be reasonably replicated in material models, while the selection of modelling scales relies on the balance of accuracy and efficiency, as well as issues of interest. Defects in preforms are typically of multiple scales and are related to process types. Effective methods for defect mitigation relies on deep understanding of the defect mechanisms. Finally, this paper outlines some future trends in the field, aiming to provide a reference for ongoing research on the manufacturing of NCF composites.
