Abstract: In this work an im proved deply technique has been adopted to study the characteristics on damage morphclogy of laminates with a surface notch.Two kinds of surface notch:rectangular and circular are profiles have been tested.The results indicated that the improved deply technique can reveal clearly the damage morphology of the laminates,and on some interesting recognitions of the characteristics of damage morphology have been therefore found.
