Abstract

The manufacturing process for the metal matrix composites of SiC whisker/aluminum alloy is being developed.The process consists of the fabrication of the whisker's preform and the fabrication of the composite billet by liquid metal infiltration.In this way the composites with 17% volume fraction of SiC whisker are manufactured.
